PENGUINS SIGN FORWARDS GEOFF WALKER AND BEN STREET

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed right wing Geoff Walker and center Ben Street to American Hockey League contracts, it was announced on Wednesday.

Walker, 22, began a five-year stint in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques in 2004-05. He spent 15 games with Gatineau the following season before being traded to his hometown Prince Edward Island Rocket. In three seasons with the Rocket, Walker went on to post 196 points (83G, 113A) in 168 games. In 2007-08, he led the squad in goals (38), assists (52), and points (90).

Pens Habs Going To 7

It was a battle to the end for the Penguins tonight against the Canadiens with a lot of the Pens shots ringing off the post and even one getting waived off because the ref lost site of the puck. Good end to end hockey with both clubs getting chances. The Pens held the Habs to 25 shots for the game even though the Canadiens scored 4 goals

The way we see it the Penguins will come out with the win and head once again to the conference finals looking toward another Stanley Cup Final and perhaps a Stanley cup as they have several times before, but the Canadiens have a different take on things as Scott Gomez has said according to the Montreal Gazette.

Brad Thiessen got his fourth shutout tonight against the Binghamton Senators as the WBS Penguins faced them on home ice. The Pens coming into this game looking at a possible fourth seed and a first round match up with arch rivals the Hershey Bears were looking to better their standing.

Pens coming off the win last night against the River Rats traveled north up the interstate to take on the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Always a great place to watch a hockey game always reminds me of a high school auditorium, with the padded seats and the fell of the arena just a great time there.

The Pens got on the board first tonight with a goal from Tim Wallace three quarters of the way through the first period then Boulerice took a hooking penalty giving Albany a man advantage and the chance to even it up, and that they did at 17:16 on the power play.
