Penguins Blanked In Hershey

The Pens worked the puck well in the first period out shooting the Bears but just couldn't find an opening to get on the board. Special teams did well in the first as well holding the Bears to just one shot on net on the power play.

The second period started out on a bad note as the Bears got on the board with a goal by center Keith Aucoin at 1:10 the Pens didn't give up they just couldn't catch a break. About half way through the second the Bears Greg Amadio threw a questionable gutless hit on Konstantin Pushkarev with an elbow to the back of the head knocking Pushkarev to the ice which should have drawn a penalty instead lands a Penguin in the box and a glorious chance for Hershey, and yes they did convert going up on the Pens by 2. By the way Amadio got the third star of the game wow way to go Hershey.

The Pens did have a chance in the second period to get on the board with a late power play given to them by the Bears as Helmer took a cross-checking penalty, but Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's Wallace would nullify it by taking an obvious hooking penalty just about 40 second into the power play. leaving the ice for the second break looking at a 2 point deficit the Penguins had their work cut out for them in the third period.

The Bears came out scoring in the third as they did in the second making it three zip at 1:51. Wade Brookbank took out the Bears Greg Amadio looking for a little pay back for his hit on Pushkarev and guess what happens, yes you guessed it Brookbank got to sit in the sin bin as Amadio went back to his bench.

Brookbank had a scuffle with Grant McNeill after Brookbank flattened Zach Miskovic with a hit identicle to the hit on Pushkarev by Amadio and this time Francis Charron took both of them, sooner or later Charron will get the call right.

The Bears scored their fourth goal at the fourteen minute mark making it an almost impossible task for the Pens with less than 6 minutes left in the game. Not much happened after the last goal for the Pens, the bears will now have 98 points on the season. The Pens drop their second road game in a row heading home now to take on the Albany River Rats on 3/10.
