Conner's Hat Trick Thrusts Penguins to Victory

Chris Conner lead the Penguins to a win over the Providence Bruins tonight at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Conner getting his second hat trick this season  had 4 points on the night getting one assist on the goal  by Nick Johnson.

The Pens looked sharp again tonight passes were good a few behind but good for the most part, a couple of nice centering passes gave the boys a couple of great chances.

Dany Sabourin started in net for the Bruins but after Conner scored his first two goals and Nick Johnson put his in it wasn't looking good for him. The Bruins finally pulled Danny but it wasn't until it was to late for the bruins.

The Penguins penalty kill was great tonight killing off eight of eight power plays given to the bruins another season high for the Pens. The power play did good converting one of three, would still like to see more. It was good to see Tangradi come back on the ice after leaving it with what looked like an injury he would have been out for a game or two with.

Tim Wallace and Joey Vitale made for a great team as they took the puck down the ice on a bruins power play and scored a Penguins short handed goal giving the Pens their fifth goal and putting the icing on the cake.

Providence didn't throw in the towel, they fought till the very end finally scoring a goal at the fifteen minute mark of the second period making it 5-1 penguins

The third period saw a lot of action but no scoring as the Penguins would hold the bruins to one goal. john Curry had a good game turning aside 26 of 27 shots for the night.

Remember fans tomorrows game against the Hershey bears has been changed to 1:05 because of the Gold Metal game between the Canadian and USA Olympic teams.
