Penguins On A RollThe WBS Penguins started out this three game road trip with a win against Lowell with a 1-0 shutout, they then traveled to Manchester to take on the Monarchs looking to get their second win on the road. The Monarchs were ready for the Penguins keeping things close. It was the Pens who got on the board first as Luca Caputi continues his scoring putting his team up one to nothing at just about the eight minute mark. Manchester scored late in the first on the power play making one to one heading off the ice. The second period started out with the Pens on the power play but that didn't seem to bother the Monarchs as Justin Azevedo scored his second of the game a shorty no less to give the Monarch's the lead. Not long after the goal by Azevedo he took a tripping penalty giving the Pens a glorious chance to even things up and that they did as Eric Tangradi lit the lamp with a nice set up from Chris Conner from the corner at 4:22 on the power play. 6'2" 213lbs. D-man Deryk Engelland and Manchester's 5'10" 198lbs.Left Wing Richard Clune did the five knuckle waltz, seemed kind of even from the call. Didn't seem to spark to much of a reaction from either squad. Was a good second frame for both teams leaving the ice with a 2-2 game, Curry looking good in the net so far in this game turning away 16 of 18 shots a few of those ringing off the post. Penguins took the lead in the third period as Tim Wallace netted a short hander at 5:03 but the Monarchs didn't let go that easy. Manchester gave it a great effort and Zatkoff made some great saves until the Pens caught him out of position off a shot from Luca Caputi, Mark Letestu knocked in the rebound making it four to two Penguins lead late in the third. Penguins D-man Steve Wagner took a one timer to the face and went face down on the ice Patrick Steidle helped him off the ice, hope he is ok. That's about it folks looks like Curry is picking back up getting the win, although we have seen this before from him let's hope he is picking back up it would be great to have two goalies in the line up again. The Pens have now won 6 out of the last 6 games looking at one more road game against the Portland Pirates this Tuesday yes i said tuesday I know not a usual night but that's what it is at 7 PM EST remember we will have the chat open so come on in and join us as we support our boys on the road looking for number 7.
