Pens Blank Bears

The Penguins fans turned out tonight to watch their boys take on the Overwhelming Hershey Bears. I say overwhelming because of the points they are carrying through the season. The Bears sitting on top of the East Division with 82 points not to mention top of the league in points too. 

Points didn't seem to be the topic of discussion for the Hershey fans tonight but I can guarantee that it was on the tongue of every Penguin fans as the WBS Penguins scored five unanswered goals against the Bears, yes I said five unanswered goals. 

Now it's not that the bears didn't try but the Pens just seemed to have the recipe for success tonight, along with some great goal tending and a few good defensive plays the boys did what they had to get the job done.

Smith, Jeffrey and Conner started the scoring for the Penguins in the first period putting the Pens up on the bears 3-0 leaving the ice for the break and the Penguin fans biting their nails looking to the second frame hoping it wouldn't be another game like the last time the Pens played the Bears in chocolate town. Boulerice did the five knuckle waltz with McNeil just before the end of the first not a bad dance.

The second period saw more of the first period, just after Boulerice got sprung from the sin bin he headed down the ice taking the pass and going top shelf with the pens fourth goal and Holtby wasn't happy.

The third saw again the Penguins pulling it together as they nailed the fifth goal with Tangradi putting it home making it 5-0 Penguins. The Pens fans were loud and proud once again looking at a possible shutout by their boys. Hershey again turned up the pressure but the Pens held the line and kept the Bears out.

that's how it ended fans 5-0 Penguins, now it is on to Adirondack to take on the Phantoms tomorrow night
